PHYSOR 2020

TRANSITION TO

A SCALABLE

NUCLEAR FUTURE

Conference status update

13.03.2020

Dear PHYSOR2020 Participants,

The organising committee has been working relentlessly in recent months towards a successful delivery of the conference.

The situation with respect to Covid-19 is changing by the hour while we try to find the best possible solutions that will minimise the detrimental impact, inconvenience and cost implications for everyone involved. At this time, the British Government has not banned events such as ours and this has financial implications.

However, after extensive deliberations and consideration of a variety of factors, the organising committee believe that it would be irresponsible to continue our attempts to hold the conference as planned. It is therefore with heavy hearts that we have no choice but to announce that the PHYSOR 2020 conference in Cambridge will be cancelled. Please be assured that your open access papers will be published in the proceedings on the conference website as advertised.

As you can imagine, we have already incurred a large proportion of the costs associated with the conference organisation. We are currently exploring the financial implications of cancelling bookings and other services from our suppliers. We will inform all the participants regarding the outcome of this process as well as the practicalities of the conference registration fee restitution.

We wish that all of you stay safe and healthy and look forward to opportunities to meet, exchange ideas and socialise with you at future events.

Sincerely yours,

General Chair, PHYSOR 2020
