The Conference

A Week of Powerful Talks
29th March 2020

PHYSOR 90 was held in Marseille, France. This was the first Physics of Reactors Conference held outside the USA. Subsequent overseas PHYSOR conferences were held in Japan (1996); South Korea (2002); Switzerland (2008); and Japan (2014). Only one of the four overseas PHYSOR topical meetings has been held outside Asia and, in 2020, 12 years will have passed since it was last held in Europe.

PHYSOR2020 will be hosted by the University of Cambridge and its Nuclear Energy Research Group within the Department of Engineering, supported by University of Birmingham. A world-leading centre of excellence in science and engineering, the university is home to the famous Cavendish Laboratory where the neutron itself was discovered by James Chadwick in 1932.

The FDS Team, originated from the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, CAS  This multidisciplinary team focusing on neutron physics, advanced fission and fusion energy, and extended nuclear technology applications, following the mission statement "Better Nuclear Technology, Better Life".
